Thermal Wonders : The Mighty Bay of Plenty

$ P.O.A.

Gain an aerial experience – fly over splashing, steaming mud pools; and bubbling, boiling geothermal waters with a journey over one of the most active landscapes that can ever be seen.

Rotorua, within the scenic Bay of Plenty, offers a theatre for the senses with its unusual geography – predominantly formed with the violent eruption of Mt Tarawera on June 10, 1886. Now dormant, the volcano ripped apart kilometres of the region, destroying what had been considered the eighth wonder of the world, the pink and white silica terraces. These days, the scars of the eruption are coupled with lush, green scenery, interspersed with spouts of steam pouring from the land. Geothermal lakes present a strong palette of colour against the green hues of the rolling hills which come together to show an amazing image from the sky.

Fly over Mt Tarawera, and take in a steaming island in the distant horizon – White Island, one of the world's only active island volcanoes.

Winery Delights : Martinborough, Hawke’s Bay, Marlborough and Otago

$ P.O.A.

New Zealand is renowned for its beautiful array of white wines, from crisp Chardonnay to fruity Sauvignon Blanc. Pick a location and head to one of the country’s finest wine regions, with ease, aboard Izardair.

Hawke’s Bay offers a great selection of rich reds and pristine whites ready to tempt the palette. Fly a little further and discover Martinborough, a boutique wine region with delicious wineries offering a fantastic array of their product.

If a showcase of the best New Zealand wineries have to offer is required, Marlborough is the destination. World-renowned wines come from the Marlborough region, with a speciality in white wines that carry a reputation of impressing even the most experienced connoisseur.

Further down the South Island, wineries in the Central Otago region are definitely worthy of a visit to taste their renowned pinot noirs.  Purchase a few bottles, or even a case; make the most of it and enjoy the region’s sumptuous seafood with your favourite drop.

Snow-Covered Peaks : New Zealand's Icy Trio

$ P.O.A.

Rising proudly from the rugged plains of the Tongariro National Park, mountains Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro are a sight that must be seen.

Their natural beauty is astounding, while their history is memorable and interesting. Gifted to the people of New Zealand in 1887 by prominent Maori chief Te Heuheu Tukino IV, the mountains have since been utilised well for adventure activities such as skiing, snowboarding and hiking, as well as creating a wonderful part of the country’s rugged yet beautiful scenery.

Even during the summer months, the mountains look awe-inspiring as they sit above the intricate landscape which surrounds them. A scenic flight over the mountains gives passengers the chance to enjoy the alpine lakes and waterfalls dotted throughout the area, and possibly gaining a glimpse of the crater lake at the top of Ruapehu.

Additionally, you can turn west and in just 20 minutes you will see the natural beauty of Mount Egmont (Taranaki).

Magnificent Tinges of Gold : Central Otago

$ P.O.A.

A region of vivid seasons, rich historical significance and mountainous landscapes – Central Otago offers a selection of activities and moments to share for any visitor.

New Zealand's most inland region, Central Otago was the chosen location for thousands of gold-mining pioneers and adventurers who found a way to travel to the region after hearing of a potential goldmine in the 1800s. More than two million ounces of gold was mined from the land over a period of time, shaping the landscape throughout the region, and also its prosperity.

Central Otago offers a world of difference to the refined traveller, from its fantastic weather conditions, beautiful landscapes, rich history and huge selection of activities, to its luxury accommodation options and friendly people.
